The IOM Building welcomes people from all over the world. Compactly situated within the Garden of Nations, it engages with its surroundings on all four sides through distinct contextual relationships. A transversal passage runs through the building, extending the continuity of public spaces and activating them with specific functions. The first floor unfolds across several levels, creating a sequence of transitional spaces between interior and exterior, between earth and sky. The synergies generated by encounters and exchanges are essential for fostering a high-quality working environment and nurturing the emergence of new ideas.
The new IOM headquarters establishes three levels of interaction with the community. a welcoming meeting place connected to the public realm and the outside world; office floors offering numerous collective spaces for informal collaboration among colleagues; and quiet zones dedicated to focused, individual work.
